Iron Mountain Regional Center

Delivering Academic Excellence Close to You!

LSSU offers a student-oriented approach to higher education. Our small class size, experienced faculty and the ability to pursue your educational dreams close to home are what the LSSU regional centers are all about. We are here for you – our students.

We are proud of the high-quality instruction we provide and of the personal attention that has always been a hallmark of the Lake Superior State University experience.

The LSSU Iron Mountain Regional Center is housed on the Bay De Noc Community College West campus in Iron Mountain.  For assistance in planning your educational goals, stop by our main office on Bay College’s Escanaba campus in the Joseph Heirman University Center or schedule a meeting ( or (906) 217-4123) when the Regional Center Director is at the Iron Mountain Regional Center. We can help answer your academic questions in areas of admissions requirements, scholarship/financial aid, counseling, course selection and registration for classes.

If not for the LSSU Regional office at Bay College, completing my degree would have been much more difficult. The majority of my classes were online and others worked well around my job. As a non-traditional student, the flexibility was beneficial.

I would pass along to everybody would be that at the regional center there will be help every step of the way and nothing beats the feeling of completing your degree.

Greg Schram2014 B.S. Criminal Justice-Generalist Grad

Not only has LSSU provided me with the education but also the confidence and professional etiquette to take the next step in my life.

Ashleigh Young2015 B.S. Accounting & Business Administration-Management Grad

Completing my degree at LSSU was the best choice I could have ever made. I was able to take most of my courses online and the ones that were not offered online were available at night, perfect for a working student.  I am so proud to say that I received my degree from Lake Superior State University and I have nothing but great words to say about my experiences along the way.

Amelia Schaefer2017 B.S. Early Childhood Education Grad

Being able to transfer so easily from Bay College to the LSSU’s Regional Campus was great! It was very cost effective, the teachers were personable and effective, and the staff was always there to help! Getting my bachelors degree in early childhood was something I never thought I could do locally, but LSSU!

LeAnn Salmi2018 B.S. Early Childhood Education & Assoc. General Studies Grad

The best part of the program for me was being able to complete all 4 years without having to move to the main campus. I saved a ton of money on housing and I was able to keep my job part time during school, where I am now working as a full time accountant. I would not have that head start in my career if it wasn’t for the regional center.
