Counseling Services – A Resource for Students
A Resource for Students
Eligibility: All LSSU students who are fully admitted and currently enrolled.
Fees: Services are FREE of charge.
We provide a variety of brief time-limited services to fully admitted and currently enrolled students. All services are free of charge, confidential, and not part of a student’s academic record. Services include: short-term psychotherapy; outreach/education; resources and referrals; and consultation. Additionally, students can access Light Box therapy, biofeedback software, check out reading material from our resource library, or sit in one of two Human Touch WholeBody massage chairs. Services are available during the Fall and Spring semesters but are limited when school is not in session.
Our individual services are designed to be short-term (average 6 sessions). Often a few individual meetings, and sometimes even one consultative session, can help you better identify, understand, and resolve the barriers that may be interfering with your sense of personal well being and/or academic success. If, during the initial appointment or during the course of short-term psychotherapy, it is determined that a student requires more therapeutic support than can be offered in our short-term model, the Counseling Services therapist will provide referrals and guide that student through the process of getting connected with a community support.
Please do not e-mail us with personal information. E-mail is not a secure form of communication. Contact us by calling or stopping in.
